A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I believe that each dog’s individual personality and preferences need to be respected to ensure their overall wellbeing. My seven year experience caring for various dog breeds and temperaments have taught me a lot and I continue to update and extend my knowledge and skill-base. In my home your companion will benefit from a safe, warm home environment as well as a secure garden. Entertainment will also be provided through walks, play, and an array of stimulating puzzles as well as lots of cuddles! I will care for up to two dogs and any dog will be accepted for boarding if the dog(s), their owner, and I are satisfied that the environment is suitable.

Advanced booking is essential and I appreciate as much notice as possible. Our holiday guests need to be over 12 months old, fully vaccinated with their flea and worm treatments up to date and they need to be spayed. All dogs need to be fully house trained and wear a collar with their unique ID tag. Prior to any bookings, a registration form needs to be completed and brought to the free-of-charge familiarisation meeting, along with all relevant documentation.

FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is dog home boarding?

Home dog boarding is where I provide all the comforts that your dog enjoys in their own home. They live as part of the family with their own bed, food, toys and enjoy all the comforts of a home while away. There are no kennels and the stay will always be personal and providing all the loving care, attention and exercise that your dog requires according to your instructions.

Do you accept all breeds?

I offer a home for dogs over the age of 12 months, including older dogs, who are friendly and sociable with people and other dogs. Unfortunately, Dog Home Boarding excludes Staffordshire Bull Terriers, XL Bullies, entire males, bitches on heat and aggressive dogs or dogs that bark incessantly.

Are you qualified and insured?

I am fully compliant with home boarding regulations including Local Authority inspections and licenses, according to the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Dog Home Boarding fulfills all the regulatory criteria needed to benefit from a 5 star license. I am fully insured and hold a current animal health and First Aid certificate.

How will I know if you are a good fit for my dog?

The free of charge familiarisation meeting provides us all with the opportunity to get to know one another and discuss your companion's needs and quirks. All dogs are walked on routes that offer appropriate levels of physical exercise. Toys can be brought and appropriate toys and puzzles will be provided. Dietary, grooming and any further needs can be discussed.

What  do I need to bring?

A collar with I.D. tag (this is a legal requirement for all dogs), lead, bed, clean bedding (please do not wash 3 days before your holiday to allow familiar scent to remain), crate (if appropriate), feeding bowl, food, treats, a couple favourite toys (please note that while I will do my best to return these I cannot guarantee this), grooming tools, medication (needs to be approved by veterinary clinic) and a vaccination records (this needs to be presented at each visit).

How will I know how my dog is getting on?

I am happy to send you updates and photos to reassure you that your companion is happy and safe. If there are any concerns you will be contacted in line with licensing regulations.
